Hearing loss affects more than 15% of adults in the United States age 18 and older. The loss may be caused by genetics, infections, autoimmune disorders, or ototoxic medications, but the most preventable cause of hearing loss is excessive noise exposure. By wearing earplugs for hearing protection outside sound can be reduced to safe levels. Often generic earplugs irritate the ear canal, or don’t fit properly and need to be reinserted frequently, or removed.
Ear plugs can be designed to fit a variety of needs for use in the workplace or when participating in leisure activities.
